I worked from 1999 to 2009 as a FreelanceAssistant Director and Resource Coordinator for ITV. After re-joining the workplace afterhaving children, I worked as an Orchestra Manager for a high-level Youth Orchestraworking with students, tutors and University lecturers. Following this I worked as theSenior Events, Marketing and Communications Officer in a busy marketing departmentat a large Secondary School in Adelaide, Australia. Last June, I returned to the UK to becloser to family. I currently work as Talent Coordinator for Peel Global EntertainmentGroup based at the Head Office in Skipton. Throughout my career, I have developed awide range of organisational, communication and administrative skills that would meetthe expectations of this role. Before moving from the UK to Australia in 2011, I worked as Resource Coordinator for ITVTelevision, in this role I supervised over 300 members of staff. I was responsible for theirrosters, leave, sickness and training requirements.I worked with a diverse team made up of both Staff and freelance personnel. It was vitalthat I put the right teams together to ensure the skills and personalities required for acertain production were met. It was important that my management skills were used toensure that the most effective teams were provided to a production. On a daily basis Iliaised and communicated essential information to various departments, to ensure thatall members of cast and crew were kept informed of the many changes to the dailyschedule.I have strong negotiation skills due to having to stick to production budgets whenagreeing terms and conditions for Freelance staff. I would often have to negotiate mystaff to work extra hours/days sometimes under difficult circumstances or timerestraints. I would use my influencing and negotiating skills to ensure a new productionwould want to use ITV staff on their production. My relationships with Producers, Headsof Department and Production Managers were extremely strong, as I would ensure Iprovided the best available staff to meet the needs of their production. It was my key role as Resource Coordinator to advance plan for my staff for up to a yearahead. I would produce 3 weekly rosters as well as the confirmed weekly roster for all mystaff and freelance personnel. It was vital that this was accurate, and any changes madeby production were continually updated. It was my priority to use my staff first and fill inthe gaps with freelance. I would usually have around 6 productions running at a time. Themain productions were Emmerdale, Heartbeat, The Royal, A Touch of Frost, Countdownand Calendar News.As an Assistant Director I used my leadership skills to ensure large numbers ofsupporting artistes knew exactly what they had to be doing throughout the day’s filming.I would also coordinate and manage external groups to aid the filming such as police andthe general public. Over the years I have played an important creative and organisationalrole in the smooth running of Productions. I have attended many planning meetings,Recces and Read-through’s and ensured the smooth running of rehearsal’s,costume/makeup fittings and production meetings.
