I am an AHRC/M3C (a consortium within the Arts and Humanities Research Council) postgraduate researcher in media industries at the University of Nottingham and my PhD looks at transnational Italian TV drama from the production perspective of an emerging culture of practice. The project is industry focused and based on extensive interviewing with the leading industry. My research interests include the media industries and production processes in particular.
Within the industry, my career objective is to work across development. This is the area where I know I can best apply my knowledge, skills and expertise as an all-round researcher, and this is what fascinates me most. In relation to this, my PhD has brought up and analysed a range of underexplored dynamics, mechanisms and aspects of development processes (within transnational coproduction frameworks), which have variously impacted on the final media outputs. The study of such correlations and related causes and implications (as they emerged from empirical evidence) underlies my PhD, making it industrially relevant. As part of my doctoral professional development, my expertise as a researcher includes archival as well as digital skills, among many others that I draw from the wide range of research methods developed and applied through the various activities along my doctoral path. Finally, yet equally important, in addition to research, I’m passionate about content creation, specifically designing, planning and writing TV content (for example, formats) where I can put to use and combine creative, analytical and communications skills.
