Amelia is an award-nominated Australian/British screenwriter and playwright currently residing in London. In 2022, her critically acclaimed debut play ‘POLES: The Science of Magnetic Attraction’ - which she also performed - was nominated for the BBC Writers Room Popcorn New Writing Award during its sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run at The Pleasance, before it ran a sell-out tour around Australia, to Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne Fringes. She is now in talks about a TV adaptation. Amelia was longlisted in 2023 for the Australian Writers Guild’s Monte Miller Awards in the Long Form Category, and shortlisted in 2022 for Screen Australia and SBS’s Emerging Screenwriters Incubator. She is a recent graduate from a BA (Hons) Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, in London, and prior to that trained with Queensland Theatre for 3 years, performing in their 2015 production ‘The Landmine Is Me’. She recently directed 16mm micro-short ‘Variations On A Theme: Heartbreak’, and shot and directed a music video for ‘Bad Luck’ by Alicia Davis. Amelia also production assisted award-winning director Jake Moss’s upcoming feature, ‘Hood Safari’ (2024). Notable acting credits include Sammie in ABC AACTA-winning series ‘All My Friends Are Racist’, as well as several music video and short film roles. 

Amelia is currently working on a small slate of screen projects, as well as a new play set to premiere in 2024. She is passionate about telling the stories she feels aren't being told, and especially those that celebrate queer and neurodivergent experiences. Read Less
