I’m a self-shooting producer & director with 16 years' experience making prime observational and presenter-led documentaries. I’ve worked with a range of talent from some of the best-known presenters (Victoria Wood, Sue Perkins & Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall to name drop a few!) to those getting their first major break (Will Millard & Sathnam Sanghera); producing travel, adventure, food and history docs for BBC & Channel 4.

Whether filming with remote tribal communities, commercial fishermen, big business owners or monks, I love to make characterful films that encourage the viewer to see the world differently. My films to date have all been well received by commissioners, critics and my contributors. Several of my films have been recognised with awards and nominations from RTS, Bafta & Grierson. I’m known for making contributors feel at ease in front of a camera and getting the very best out of people.

I have my own Canon C300 Mkiii camera kit and place a huge importance on the look of my films. I enjoy being creative with the visuals to tell a story or add layers to a scene. Confident lighting my own interviews, using eye-direct interrotron style setups and drone filming. I have taken all my Producer/Director credited films through the edit and am experienced in crafting compelling stories, writing scripts and working to tight deadlines.

I'm a loyal, determined and committed employee who has built trusting relationships with the production companies I’ve worked for, often making several programmes in succession with the same ones. I've filmed in some of the most challenging environments in the world – high altitude, on commercial fishing boats and with extremely remote communities. I have a lot of experience filming in India, having made three prime time series there and spent two years of my life in that wonderful country.

Having grown up on a farm in Shropshire, I am passionate about farming and rural life so films of that nature will always appeal hugely. Other particular interests include the natural world, travel, fishing, art and music!
