Ogo Okpue is an award-winning British Nigerian filmmaker and successful motion graphics and visual effects artist based in Essex, United Kingdom. He is known for his striking visuals and atmospheric scenes whilst staying unwaveringly committed to his on-screen subjects and the realities of issues around them. His award-winning debut feature film A SONG FROM THE DARK, a supernatural horror thriller has been nominated and screened at various international festivals. Most recent awards are Best Director (American Black Film Festival), Best First Feature (Pan African Film Festival), Best First feature by a director (2022 African Movie Academy Awards), Best Writing (Vancouver horror show 2022) and Best Foreign Feature (Horror Movie Bowl Awards 2022). His previous short films have been nominated and screened at various UK and International festivals and events such as London Independent Film Festival, British Urban Film Festival, Crystal Palace Intl Festival, Creative Arts Festival, African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), just to name a few. He is also a recipient of the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for Best Short film/Online Video and nominee for best short films at various international festivals.

His short film SAVING CAIN was shown on Shorts HD DirecTV Channel 573 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 1789 and his previous short film CATFACE has been shown on various international VOD platforms since its release.

His film influences are Park Chon-Wook, Akira Kurosawa, David Fincher, John Woo, Michael Mann, John Carpenter, Antoine Fuqua and Robert Rodriguez. As a creator, Ogo has an extensive portfolio of intellectual properties centred around Afrocentric stories and characters.
