Since graduating with a First in Illustration from Kingston School of Art, I have pursued a creative freelancer career. Due to the variety of roles I have so far, I have had the pleasure to learn from highlights not only my motivation but also my multifaceted approach to hard work. Despite the diversity of roles I have pursued, communicating a narrative has always remained the common thread of my practice.
Since moving to Paris in September 2022, I interned as a writer and researcher for T&P Press where I picked up competency in meta-data entry for their digital research archive Problemata.
Alongside my role at T&P Press, I also interned for CRASH; an arts, fashion and philosophy magazine in Paris.
Here, I was in charge of creating video content for social media using Premierpro, as well as learning to write for both digital & print.
Since December 2022, I have had the pleasure of working with The Performance Agency (Paris), an event curation and production company which exists within the realms of Art and Fashion. Collaborating on a multitude of projects in a variety of roles in Paris, Switzerland & New York has tested my adaptability working on the ground in fast-paced environments ranging from performances, art fairs, fashion shows and parties.
I have used my skills in communication, playing a key role in developing concept & visual research as well as copywriting for pitch decks and formatting these presentations using Indesign.
Furthermore, I have played a role in the production of events gaining an insight into the logistical planning and coordination of schedules, scouting & managing talent, together with budgets for these events.
In addition to working with The Performance Agency, in my spare time, I have set myself goals to pursue my other interest in food styling and event catering, where I have worked with Descombes catering to create both visual and nourishing feasts for clients including Christies & Prada. To me food is the most primordial form of communication, it speaks of a mother's love or one's care for the planet or even to one's desire for luxury. Although I had always run supper clubs from home, enjoying the curation of each theme of dinner, working with Descombes Catering accelerated my knowledge of how an idea goes from concept to client.
Working as part of a small team I proficiently delivered the brief and was often left in charge of the smooth running of the event. Moreover, my keen visual sense meant that I was able to not only deliver the visually curated catering I also took the initiative to document the food spreads, leading to my images being used as part of marketing to future clients.
I have also had experience with fashion styling for both commercial and more artistic publicity campaigns with brands including Marni, Louis Saint Gervais and Cosco.
To ensure a smooth shoot day I was reliable in organising pickups and as well as negotiating with clients and working with a team on set.
My biggest point of pride since graduating is the success of publishing (by Muswell Press) my first book You Will Feel in in the Price of Bread, which I wrote and designed. Writing and creating a visual narrative is something I take on as with all the jobs listed above with the utmost focus on communicating a concept to a targeted audience. This book was an insight into my experience as a Ukrainian English university student at the time of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Most recently, I was approached to work on a film variant of the storyline with a film director & producer based in London. Taking on this role self-initiated brief has been a challenge that I have been keen to undertake as the situation in Ukraine weighs heavy on my heart and with the current state of the world I was to continue to use both my creative and practical knowledge to work on a cause I am truly passionate about. Having previously experienced as a Creative Department Runner in film production, I am eager to engage further with the Film & TV industry.
Although I have always had a keen drive and motivation to achieve goals independently, I find that I enjoy & thrive in a social & collaborative work environment. With the multiplicity of roles, I have successfully navigated a vast range of both team and client personalities, developing a capability to address challenges and work efficiently in a team, due to my never-fading openness to learn & see new ways of thinking. My ongoing collaboration with multiple companies and clients stands as a testament to my good nature and work professionalism.
Long term I plan to continue to work in the creative landscape, in media production working with both written and visual material. Read Less
