Creative, versatile television producer, director and development executive with over 25 years’ experience across factual, documentaries, lifestyle and live entertainment. Proven track record in developing original ideas, securing commissions, and delivering standout content for leading broadcasters. Equally confident leading productions on location worldwide, running development at a senior level, or building trusted on- and off-screen relationships with talent, commissioners and contributors.
After the birth of my first child, I made the decision to leave my staff role at the BBC and set up my own production company. This gave me greater autonomy over my time, but also taught me a huge amount. I ran every aspect of the business — from filming, editing and casting to advertising, client relations, social media, hiring and equipment sourcing. That experience gave me a new confidence in my creative judgement, problem-solving and adaptability — skills I’ve brought back into television at a senior level.
During lockdown, I trained as a yoga teacher and now use this to support vulnerable groups and raise funds for charities. I also mentor a teenager through MCR Pathways, and remain passionate about championing underrepresented voices and telling untold stories. I’ve been invited to judge various categories for RTS Scotland, supported Channel 4’s DDP networking events, and have been asked by TV companies to offer careers advice to students at the Edinburgh TV Festival. As a qualified journalist and programme-maker, I’m grateful every day to work in a career I genuinely love — and I’m excited about where it leads next.
