During, the 2 years working in the TV and Film industry I have been quickly promoted from basic Security Officer to Lead Security Officer. My last role being the Lead on Amazons flagship Lord of the Rings series.
It is highly unusual for an individual to reach Lead Security Officer with no previous security experience within a 2 year window. It was achieved purely by demonstrating the highest standards and regularly receiving exemplary reports from senior crew members.
As an individual I lead by example, my personal skills relating to punctuality, being flexible and working in an ever changing environment set me apart. I regularly highlight issues and use my own initiative to solve problems. I have invested heavily in my role as Lead Security Officer and have demonstrated on multiple occasions how I add value. Examples of this include having my own sets of 13/16 amp extensions, 32 amp splitters, tow ropes, starter cables. I drive a Toyota Hilux Pick up which has on occasion towed assets to and from locations or assisted in getting rid of rubbish.
I am an organised person and plan my day to include training new members of staff and liaising with HOD’s of other departments so as to manage production expectations. I consider myself a team player who is able to adapt and communicate at all levels. My abilities have mitigated issues on productions on countless occasions. My persona translates as very enthusiastic and I always have a ‘can do’ attitude when I am working. In my most recent role I would be responsible for a team upward of 50 people on filming days spread out across multiple locations.
I recognise as a security member my progression in the industry is limited so I am now looking for a new challenge working in the production department. A department who I work very closely with and familiar with a lot of their working practices.
