Previous to this I obtained a First Class degree in History from the University of Cambridge, where I was also involved in student politics and student journalism. On graduation from the NFTS I am hoping to pursue a career in the news, ultimately working as a producer.
As part of my degree I am currently directing and producing a multi-camera game-show, and I have received camera training on Sony FS7s. I have always been extremely interested in politics and current affairs, and I have a deep belief in the role of TV in delivering reliable factual information to it's viewers.
Whilst at university I was the Senior Opinions editor on The Cambridge Student. In my position, I kept on top of the news and popular culture, commissioning articles on relevant and important political, cultural, and economic events. I read, fact-checked, and edited for style and argument purposes articles, ensuring that the writing was fluent, accurate, and persuasive. I also wrote on matters I was especially passionate about, developing a clear voice and writing style, whilst also learning how to effectively research a contemporary piece of writing.
I also took part in student theatre, working as a producer. As producer, I managed a cast and crew of 30 people, taking ultimate responsibility for all scheduling, budgeting, legal, and creative decisions. I ensured everyone remained on task and on schedule, whilst also dealing with any interpersonal or personal issues that arose. This experience taught me so much not only about time management and organisation, but also about thinking on my feet; working on tight deadlines with limited resources meant that problems often arose that needed to be solved almost instantly.
I am an adaptable, disciplined, and hard-working person, who is extremely keen to learn and get involved however I can.
