My name is Brian Martin, I am currently a PhD student at the DCU-DkIT Graduate School, conducting research titled ‘Media
Representations of League of Ireland Soccer.’ I am also a member of Creative Arts Research
at DkIT. My research explores the intersection of League of Ireland Soccer and Irish media,
examining the value of media content, their role, and public perception and knowledge of the
league. My PhD has allowed me to develop such skills as; oral and written communication,
project management and organisation, analysis and problem-solving, and research and
information management. These were also developed via 12+ years in mobile
communications as a line manager, providing me with vital leadership experience along with
12 years of management, leadership, sales and development skills..
I also have an MSc in Emerging Media from Dublin City University. Previous to this, I
completed a BA (HONS) in Communications in Creative Media from Dundalk Institute of
Technology. I also have a QQI level 5 in Multimedia production from the Drogheda Institute of
Further Education. With my experience and knowledge, and the outlined skills I believe I
would be the perfect candidate for the role. I have excellent knowledge of the Adobe Creative
Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro and
proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in Content Management Systems and
