Ronggang Yan is a visual artist, filmmaker and media executive from China with over five years of experience working in the entertainment and film industry. He recently completed his master's degree in documentary film from University College London. His undergraduate graduation film "Rebirth" tells the story of Chinese rural women pursuing the right of women’s reproductive self-determination. It won the Best Film award and a prize of 150,000 RMB at the China IM Film Festival. His graduate graduation film "Escape Earth" has just been completed, depicting the struggles of a group of young Chinese astrophotography enthusiasts against high-pressure lives as they pursue the mysteries of the universe. The constant theme in his filmography is the pursuit of free will and the exploration of the meaning of life.




He has been engaged in visual and storytelling creation for five years. He has created commercials and media content for Alibaba Group and collaborated with the PR department on media marketing efforts. His work has garnered tens of millions of online exposures for Alibaba's major events. As a freelance cinematographer, he has contributed to advertisements for companies such as CHANDO, PROYA, and PICC. Trailers for films he produced as an independent filmmaker have been nominated multiple times for the homepage of Chinese video websites, and he has won the Best Trailer Award at the Rome Prism Film Festival.
