Having recently completed my Master's Degree in Film and Literature, I am looking to find a job in the creative industries. I have a varied range of experience thanks to my studies and previous work experience.

My degree in Theatre: Writing, Directing, and Performing has given me insightful experiences working as part of a team to create a joint project, as well as developing my own skills, specialising in writing and design. I contributed to four productions in my time at the University of York, with my input ranging from producing a friend's original play to writing a political theatre production centred on populism. I worked on design teams to create cohesive visions for our productions that fit emotional and temporal/geographical themes.

My Master's Degree in Film and Literature has allowed me to hone my critical thinking skills, and given me the opportunity to analyse some of my favourite media, from the music of My Chemical Romance to films such as 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'. I have engaged with academic work, and done extensive research to inform my own essay work, cultivating in a 16,000 word dissertation on relational aggression in emo media.

As a Barista Maestro at Costa Coffee, I learned team leadership skills and problem solving in a fast-paced environment. I had keyholder privileges, meaning I was responsible for the running of the store on a day-to-day basis, as well as delegating duties to a team. I also trained several baristas on Costa Coffee brand standards, ensuring the store passed any audits we received in my four years there.

Alongside my MA, I have been working with Cogitamus LTD as a Research Assistant. I have taken up responsibilities such as compiling a weekly newsletter stating what is on in both national and regional government, pertaining to particular interests in transport. Recently, I have been working on gathering information regarding the ticket office closures in railway stations across Britain, as well as creating profiles for MPs.

I have gathered skills primarily in research, whether it be to inform a production or piece of writing I am creating, or as specific information for a client. I am hard-working and enthusiastic, and try to think of outside-the-box solutions to problems. Read Less
