As a pioneering cameraman, he captured the rare "Sangai" for the documentary "The Return of Sangai,". Sumanth's directorial debut, "The Naga Pride," in collaboration with Gypsy Tiger Productions and Wildlife Institute of India, earned accolades across 8 countries and received 12 global nominations, including a top Indian documentary award at Nagaon International Film Festival. His conservation-focused work "Communities and Sustainability" in collaboration with ATREE was recognized at prominent film festivals, endorsed by Vigyan Prasar and CMS Vatavaran.
Sumanth is a Jackson Wild Collective member and distinguished fellow of the Jackson Wild collective. His ongoing project, "Forgotten Foods" a Coffee Table Book, explores eco-friendly food practices among Cauvery River basin tribes, addressing climate change.
