Hartley's extensive career includes capturing the experiences of refugees in Europe, gathering stories on the road from the UK to Mongolia with the infamous Mongol Rally, exploring political and cultural identity in Tunisia, and acting as creative lead on multi-national projects for global ethnographic research agency BAMM.

Having filmed in over 30 countries across the globe to date, Hartley's objective as an award-winning documentary-maker is to pursue a career in film, TV and the third sector exploring current affairs, sharing people's stories and raising awareness of local and global issues.

Hartley also has experience running a small production company producing promo films and music videos; freelancing in a number of roles including directing, camera, editing, storyboarding and research; and leading film-making workshops for young people. Read Less
