I am an independent producer concentrating mainly on story development and securing the right partners for the right idea—whose credits include a recent OSCAR and BAFTA-nominated European film or multiple award-winning titles and audience success stories.
Some of my career highlights include co-producing "Donbas" (Un Certain Regard Award, Cannes 2018), after the Silver Bear winner, "Ana Mon Amour", Berlin 2017 and Critic's Week winner, "Albüm", Cannes 2016.
I am a Screen Leaders 2018, Inside Pictures 2019, and EAVE 2020 alum. I am undergoing a part-time MBA in European Film Business and Law from the Film Uni. Babelsberg and the University of Potsdam. I hold a BA(Hons) in Film editing; I received from the NFTS in London a Master’s Degree in Creative Business for Entrepreneurs and Executives, in addition to the renowned NFTS Script Development course diploma.
In the past—before living in London, I started as an entrepreneur in 2010 with the production company Digital Cube in Romania. Then, beginning in 2016, I helped build and hence owned a majority stake in Avanpost- one of Eastern Europe's most comprehensive post-production hubs- I successfully sold by 2022 after a period of significant growth. In the meantime, I gathered over 5 years of experience in international co-productions financing and over 10 years of experience in post-production studio management. Also, I supervised the post-production for over 50 pan-European and highly international titles, including US studio films. Before that, I was an assistant editor mainly for several US indie titles and, later, a film editor, including for an Emmy-winning documentary.
In the last 5 years—I focused on film and high-end TV series script editing and development, plus production financing regulations globally, becoming attached as a producer to multiple award-worthy projects and some of the most significant international talent.
Recently—I have been a producer for "Nowhere Special" (directed by Uberto Pasolini, an Italy-Romania-UK official co-production) starring James Norton. In addition, I have been a co-producer for "Quo Vadis, Aida?" directed by Jasmila Zbanic, raising the 2nd-highest share from its financial construction based on a 9 countries co-production. Both titles premiered in Venice in 2020. As of 2023, "Nowhere Special" was sold out internationally to distributors in all available territories, one by one, and had an impressive festival run around the world. "Quo Vadis, Aida?" won the top prize at the European Film Awards 2022 and was nominated for the OSCARS and the BAFTAS in 2021.
