Radio and Audio apprenticeship. I have really enjoyed studying all aspects of music and media, especially delivering on time-bound, collaborative, creative projects. During my GCSEs, I used a tutor to help improve my grades in maths and after six weeks of tutoring, my grade improved by one level. In my spare time I am teaching myself to play the guitar.
Work Experience:
In July 2023, I completed two weeks work experience at Cutting Edge Group. During this placement, I used a range of Adobe programs in order to edit photos and videos for brand promotion across social media for Myndstream, as well as editing a video using AI art and composite loops of stock footage that I had created, that was then used on the Yellow Brick Cinema YouTube channel.
In 2019, I did a week of work experience at Discovery Education. I helped the production team in finding information, videos, images, and music to be used in the videos and articles on the Espresso website. I was also able to see the production process of the videos as it took place.
I currently work as a part-time sales assistant at Presents, a gift shop in Barnes, South West London.
Education:
I studied Level 3 BTEC in Music Performance at Kingston College Creative Industries Centre from 2020 to 2022. I achieved a Merit in my first year of Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Music Performance, and a Distinction Distinction Merit in my second year. During this course, I learnt how to program and produce music on Logic Pro X; I learnt about the different roles within the music industry and what those jobs entail, and I improved my individual performance skills and techniques while working within different bands towards numerous performances across the two years.
I then went on to study Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Creative Media at Kingston college from 2022 to 2023, and achieved a Merit as my end of year grade. During this course, I was able to gain greater knowledge of filming, production and editing, and gain transferable skills for the creative industries. I learned how to use professional camera and sound equipment to record my own footage in the styles of different types of media (e.g., film, documentary, advertisement) and used a range of programs including After Effects, Premiere Pro and Photoshop, in order to edit my recorded footage into cohesive and creative projects.
