I am a Grierson-award winning documentary director with work shown internationally from festival screens to art galleries and UN climate conferences. I have directed commissions for the British Film Institute and Channel 4 as well as branded original work for National Geographic, Unilever, and UN organisations.

I have worked as a TV series producer for BBC World and Sky History.  I was also the co-founder of award-winning production company Happenstance Films, where I led a diverse, female-majority team relating intimate stories to global audiences. I have gained recognition both as a business woman and filmmaker.

My work has won a prestigious Grierson Awards, and has been nominated at the Royal Television Society Awards, and won the Audience Award at Iris Prize, the UK’s foremost LGBTQ+ film and television prize. My documentaries have been broadcast globally and screened at international film festivals including DOC NYC and Encounters.

As a queer, female filmmaker I am driven to explore diverse communities with compassion as I strive to understand my fellow humans better, share unheard perspectives and entertain. As a director, I gain intimate access to the subjects I work with. My digital-first original for Channel 4 –  Modelling, Mania, and Me – shows that my work can both attract audiences (100k+ views on YT) and convey a person’s life story with great empathy; the feedback from audiences have been humbling. My film Ted & Noel has contributed to recording a seldomly reported on part of queer history and experience.

I am also a self-shooter and cinematographer with strong skills in capturing unfolding stories, my most recent work being featured on Al Jazeera.

Beyond film and TV, my multi-media work has been exhibited at the Institute of Contemporary Arts London and the Dadian Gallery in Washington DC, and part of digital media projects at King’s College London and University College London. Read Less
