- Archive research for production with specialist inside knowledge of the ITV Archive catalogue and it's regional television archive collections. This includes research into what is known about legacy programmes e.g. series structure, original transmission sequence, TX dates, first appearances, unbroadcast interviews, production rushes etc. and what materials may still exist. Investigative work to uncover footage and locate unexploited material i.e. ‘hidden gems’, 'unseen footage' and 'lost' content.
- Knowledge of the copyright and distribution landscape and handling footage requests, this includes clip sales, appropriate clearances and exploitation rights.
- Specialist in legacy film and original broadcast videotape formats including information and advice relating to migration to digital file formats with first-hand experience of telecine and film transfer.
- Video production skills; video-editing (Final Cut, Premiere Pro), project management and archiving, logging, shot listing and timecode capture for short-form clips, promo and screener material.
- Experience of digital asset management in a library context, including data retrieval and management, data cleansing and reporting/analysis.
- Librarian skills relating to the preservation and cataloguing of archive material. This includes accessioning, preservation, classification, maintenance of electronic records, descriptive metadata and keywords. Specialist technical knowledge of film (8mm, 16mm and 35mm) and its preservation. This includes specialist skills related to asset identification and separation, A-D testing, vault management, digitisation, film scanning and restoration.
- Excellent writing and communication skills with experience of copywriting for the web; feature articles and curating content to engage audiences on social media.
- An interest in the art of film-making, particularly analogue film, photography and darkroom techniques; with experience of devising and facilitating workshops to foster a creative approach to filmmaking.
