Hi! I'm looking for Assistant Producer opportunities across factual and specialist factual.

I'm based in Edinburgh, but I have a base in London, and can do extended stints there.

Since arriving in the UK last year, I've been freelancing as a video journalist and videographer.

Prior to that, I have a decade's experience in Aussie broadcast TV: much of that decade was spent at The Project, a primetime news/current affairs/entertainment show that doesn't really have a UK equivalent.

My role there was Segment Producer (again, no real UK equivalent). This entailed producing an informative, creative take on a given topic, as well as preparing a producing a panel interview on said topic - all on a daily turnaround.

In addition to the core skills required in this role - research, news journalism, creative writing, edit producing, managing a small team - I also have experience setting up and directing field shoots, chasing talent, and managing sensitive relationships.

My interests run the gamut: from music and sport, to politics and history, via current affairs and social issues. I've produced scores of stories on all of the above, and am keen to delve deeper in a longer format. Read Less
