Yes the celebrities and politicians, but most importantly I’ve connected with hundreds of everyday people with extraordinary real life stories.
I started out in
ITV and BBC Newsrooms producing bulletins. Then began Assistant Producing, Reporting and News Editing. That grounding means I’m an expert fact checker and sharp writer. I don’t shy away from asking difficult questions, but I'm skilled at handling sensitive issues. I’m calm under pressure and can deliver to tight deadlines. In fact, I’ve never missed one.
In 2013 I made the move from News to Factual TV. Working as
Investigations Researcher on Countryfile took my production and research skills to the next level. I helped make more than forty films, covering everything from Climate Change, Flooding to fox funting. Presented by Tom Heap, these films were turned around in just two weeks.
I also researched and set up features for the programme. Highlights include climbing Jodrell Bank with John Craven, blowing up WWII bombs in France with Ellie Harrison and Cassis making in Herefordshire with Anita Rani.
During my time on the show I completed the single-camera directing course at BBC Elstree and made three short films in a week.
Between career breaks which I took following maternity leave with my two daughters I was invited back to work on BBC Countryfile. Including during the pandemic. Working remotely and responding quickly to the changing restrictions during that difficult time was challenging for the entire team. But it was also rewarding and great to deliver fantastic programmes and work with a brilliant team again.
I’m now looking for freelance work in
TV Production, Radio or Podcast Production. Or roles that support teams or individuals with their media communications.
