As well as a theatre director and writer I am an engagement practitioner with 10 years experience and a large sustained network of vulnerable communities and organisations. These groups include: Refugees and first gen. migrants; youth offenders; addicts; young people outside of mainstream education due to experience with trauma or anxiety (learning providers and pupil referral units); children; women who have survived / are in ongoing domestic violence and abuse. The work relies on a considerable amount of care and relationship building. It has included: Researching and finding groups and contributors; establishing trust over a long period of time with said groups; delivering creative workshops over a sustained period for these communities; working with contributors to self-author their own work; interviewing + preparing questions for contributors for documentary theatre projects.
