I’m a working class, jewish theatre director and writer transitioning into research and development for factual and scripted HETV. My work often showcases fun, entertaining factual stories with heart at their core and I am driven by work which interrogates the world, cultural systems and people around us both rigorously and beautifully.
In theatre I specialise in the research, development and pitching of new work and have experience doing this with leading UK venues, orgs and individuals. My experience as an award winning writer and story editor means I have a wealth of experience collaboratively developing, composing and editing story structures and projects.
I know I would thrive if given the opportunity to make the switch. I'm looking for someone to give me the opportunity to do so and I'd hope that my abilities to tell stories, pitch and write would stand in good stead. I’ve worked in high pressure creative environments for ten years, managing people and developing projects with both small and larger teams. I am highly adaptable, confident in taking the lead and initiative on projects and a progressive learner.

“Newman and Head unbind the text, extract from it, add to it, and then rebind it in ways that show deep appreciation for the play and the possibilities it presents. It is a Queer imagining that boldly tackles the politics of the writing and telling of history [...] Bakkhai carves a new version of this play into history.”
- Anisha Anantpurkar, NorthWestEnd on Bakkhai (adapter and director)
