I worked as a broadcast journalist for 20 years before becoming a journalism teacher. Initially I was a reporter in regional news; latterly I worked as a producer (Senior Broadcast Journalist) for the BBC and ITV, including on programmes such as BBC Breakfast, the One and Six O'Clock News and ITV.
