Described by one of my NFTS tutors as someone who brings a “filmic playfulness” to their craft, I have always had a strong fixation on visual details, audio and movement.

At the start of my career in media, I am looking for running opportunities for both on-set and in post-production. Despite the pressure, whether in a cold filming space or a cosy post-production suite, I love the atmosphere of media production and the feeling of achieving something seemingly impossible by working with others. Just as satisfying, like restoring a painting, is modifying the beautiful colours lost in raw footage, which is why my long-term professional career-goal is to become a colour grader.

For running, I have recently shadowed as a runner for Doghouse Post-Production. I also have directly transferable skills from working in retail for three years. Whether stationed in one spot or racing around the store, I am well equipped in juggling the dual responsibilities of maintaining a store and assisting customer enquiries, whilst always maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude.

For filmmaking, I develop my craft by working with analogue film; resurrecting antique movie cameras and experimenting with their results on modern editing software. I am currently working on building a small lab in my parents’ garage where I can develop and digitise my own film. Whilst I have started my journey as an analogue filmmaker with montages of the Grand Appeal’s Wallace and Gromit statues, my dream is to craft my own feature-length projects, both documentary and scripted, shot on film.
