Read More I am Emma Jane PrestonI am transgender and I am almost 57, I have 2 beautiful kids, I live in Preston, Lancashire and I have just graduated with a 1st class Hons degree in TV Production from University of Central Lancashire.
In my previous life (before Sept 2020), I was very senior in retail, hospitality and distribution but I was not happy.
So I gave it all up to go to university and do something I love - make television
I now have a BA 1st(Hons) after grading 14/14 modules between 74-96
I love sport of all kinds (except rugby (which I don't understand) and cricket (which is like watching paint dry). My dream is (and was) to work on the World Cup, Wimbledon and the Olympics.
I have already ticked off one of those dreams as I worked as a logger for BBC and WBS at Wimbledon 2023. I got this role because I was asked if I would like to take up the remaining slot on the BBC Sport First Line scheme that ran between January-May 2023.
While I was at Quay House, I networked the heck out of my time and I landed a role with the team for this years tournament.
I had the privilege of logging some of the tournaments key moments - I am proud to have worked there.
WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR...
I want professionals who are media employers to see the potential in me. I might be almost 57 but I have the drive and energy of 10 teenagers. My work ethic is boundless.
MY 10 YEAR MISSION
3 Years - Be a regular production leader
5 Years - Director
10 Year - Content Editor / Series Prducer
10 Years & 1 day - Retire
I have a major operation in August 2023 that will put me out of action until November 2023. I will be available to go anywhere in the world from then onwards
If you feel you have roles that can help me in my quest, then I would love to hear from you
Many thanks
Emma Preston
