Across my academic education, I have gained experience in ethnographic film and media making; including sound recording and mixing, photography, video and video editing. I have developed a sound-oriented focus on the spatial experience of in-between landscapes. A major component of my education so far has been the management and production of collaborative and independent research projects, forming connections and working with a wide range of people. I have been trained to use Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing and audio mixing, and REAPER, Adobe Audition and SADiE 6 for audio mixing. I am currently undertaking research along the Thames Estuary for my final MA project, which will use walking methodologies to explore the traces of natural, industrial and social activity within the landscape, in the uncertain fabric of urban redevelopment and climate change. This will use a range of data-collection methods (sonic, visual and written) including working with walking groups and interviewing people living in/working in/visiting the Estuary, to accumulate in an audiovisual piece.
Over the past 10 years, I have gained experience in songwriting, recording and producing (using Logic Pro) as well as performing music both independently and collaboratively. I enjoy attending local gigs regularly and making connections within the music community.
I have professional experience working in public-facing roles within the arts, community and healthcare sectors. During my front-of-house work in cinemas, which incorporated a wide range of responsibilities, I have developed a dynamic variety of organisational and communicative skills. In community-centred roles such as childcare and mental health, I have maintained interpersonal engagements with a wide variety of people - demonstrating a detailed commitment to care. In researching, conducting interviews and producing audiovisual content in both academic and professional contexts, I have been driven by a people-centred ethos that seeks to explore existential questions through a vast variety of voices. I'm really excited to develop the skillset I've gained so far in future roles.
