Then I decided to get my Masters degree after which I now have 2 years expeirence working as an Edit Assistant with other 5 years working across multiple industries. I have 2 TV credits, with excellent technical skills and have worked across multiple softwares, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro and Avid.
I first worked at Seven Video Productions for 8 months assisting the video editor, this required collating and organising the material within premiere pro or final cut pro depending on the editor. I would sync and group media and tilt folders accordingly. Then I’d be required to cut the material down on a separate timeline and create a “rough draft” which the editor could then expand on. This involved a lot of meetings and video calls with the clients, making sure we delivered the right video for them and their company. After Seven I worked at Air TV, dealing with over 5 editors at one time and producers who all worked at home. I was responsible for collating, logging, downloading, marking and delivering material. During this time as a technical runner/edit assistant, I built a fantastic rapport with all editors. D.I.T duties, downloading masses of footage, most notably, Bangers & Cash auctions, which were a X7 camera shoot almost amassing 2TB of footabe. I also the first person to call for technical issues: software, Hard drives/ SSD and Mac/Raid issues were all passed through me to solve.
