Francesca is an original made-in-Italy screenwriter.  She was born in Milan, but grew up in a small town surrounded by nature. Thanks to her love for animals, she soon started what would become a more than fulfilling career in competitive horse riding. This sport taught her discipline, courage and tenacity, strengths that she carries with her into her profession as a filmmaker. 

With a background in classical studies, she moved back to Milan where she took a degree in communication, media and advertising at IULM University and after a year as a teacher she flew to Canada where she got a degree in Writing for Film, TV & Video Games at Vancouver Film School. 

Always surrounded by artists, she needs to put her creativity on the page. She walks on stages and sets (always tripping on cables, but never falling), where she learns the art of direction until stands behind the camera to finally scream the notorious “action” for the first time with the horror short film “Sight”, written, directed and produced by her. 

Francesca has an eclectic variety of genres and she sings all of them with a sparkle of dark humour; from the period piece feature, to the horror survival video game, to the animated comedy tv pilot. Experiencing producing her works, taught her how important is to deliver a message as an artist. 

 What she loves the most about screenwriting is the unique chance that this art offers to its artists, which is being able to explore life situations, characters’ minds and all the possible worlds their fantasy wants to take them in.  

 For her, writing is a passion, storytelling a powerful tool and the big screen the perfect medium.  Read Less
