In my home city of Florence I worked in a communications role for a cultural association. The association organised large cultural events. The role of my team was to design the events (readings, artistic workshops and live music), talk to the people involved, maintain the organisation and help the artists. During the festival I acted as liaison between the programming team and the artists, as well as content creation. This work experience taught me how to deal with different artists involved in the events as well as how to deal with digital communication. I had to contact the artists, agree on the performances details and that everything was going to plan.
My main passion is film. In November 2021 I completed a master’s degree in film studies at the University of Dundee. This gave me the opportunity to develop my practical filmmaking skills and generated a still deeper appreciation for film as a means of creative self-expression. The interest for this art form has brought me to wanting to be more involved in Edinburgh’s festival scene: I’ve been involved with the Edinburgh Short Film Festival since November 2021, first as a volunteer, then as part of the programming and selection team for the editions after that. I'm currently the and Head of Events during the Festival. I help plan the events, act as a liaison between staff, director and guests, and shortlist the films for the final programme.
I've spent the last two and a half working full time in TV production in Glasgow. My role has been of Production Secretary for a variery of BBC Daytime/Prime Time Shows. I've been working alongside the Production Coordinator and Production Manager, and I've been planning shoots, booking accommodations and travel for the crew and contributors on location and problem solve last minute issues. I've also worked on post-production paperwork: finance reconciles, cue sheets, release form logs, etc.
