Crossing the disciplines of design, motion and illustration, I’ve collaborated and helped in-house agencies, universities, and other educational organisations to create more engagement, convey their values, train their staff and tell their stories.
Motion design for me is the perfect mix of problem solving through design and art. As a boy (and man), comics were a huge interest of mine. I perhaps, didn’t realise as a boy, but reading them exposed my brain to lots of different subjects like philosophy, science, civil liberties, prejudice, religion and history etc. Carrying all these interests into adulthood, I really believe that using a mix of illustrated or animated content in these contexts can pique interest and reach audiences. Especially younger ones.
Animation and motion design can resonate in ways that other forms of media do not. It can be memorable, relatable and accessible. For people and organisations wanting deliver complex messages to their audiences, they are also powerful tools to help simplify those messages.
