I've spent three and a half years working as a Gallery Production Assistant for Warner Bros Discovery, primarily at Newshub. I've been fortunate enough to work across a range of shows, collaborating with producers and directors to deliver high quality daily news, info-tainment programs, and one-off specials - both breaking news and scheduled. The pre-show elements of my work involved preparing show rundowns and proofreading scripts and graphics, ensuring that all content was in line with the predetermined style guide. In an on-air environment I worked with all control room personnel to ensure the show ran to time and delivered the most up-to-date and accurate content for our viewers.
In my final year and a half at Newshub I also took on some Junior Producer duties, which involved writing short scripts and cutting vision for midday update bulletins, as well as small pieces for Newshub Digital. Working through covid, elections, several major weather events, and the death of the queen has given me invaluable experience in breaking news work, and I pride myself on remaining focused and efficient in high-stress situations. I am flexible with my time and always willing to go the extra mile to help my colleagues. I was fortunate enough to use my background in Classics and Ancient History to produce several articles on archaeological breakthroughs.
In my spare time I enjoy travel, exploring the outdoors, hiking, climbing, and biking. I am passionate about history, having studied Classics at university, and been lucky enough to volunteer on archaeological digs.
