I have gained widespread experience as a production runner, VT runner, talent runner and location runner, and hope to further build on my already strong skillset in the near future.
I am currently working as production runner on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
This year, I have worked as the full-time runner for ITV Daytime's 'Loose Women'. This enabled me to gain a wide skillset and experience in the studio TV setting. This role involved a mixture of working with on-screen talent and completing administrative work. I have also learnt key skills of the production sercretary role for on-call duties. Alongside this, I took an eager interest in the role of the researchers, often pitching ideas for topics and items for the shows to researchers and assistant producers.
This summer, I worked on one of the UK's most loved entertainment formats, The Great British Bake Off, as Talent Runner.
I juggled my full-time job on Loose Women with a position as Talent Runner on 'Dancing on Ice'. Every Sunday, I have dedicated my time to ensuring that presenters and judges are well looked after. I have helped to ensure that each live episode has run smoothly and to time. Working with Lifted Entertainment again was a delight. My first work with Lifted was in November and December 2023. when I was the production runner for The Royal Variety Performance. This was an absolute honour to work alongside some of the country's biggest names.
From August to October 2023, I completed my first Runner job as Location Runner on Series 2 of The Dog Academy, which will be aired on Channel 4. This was a fantastic opportunity to get heavily involved in the TV production, alongside allowing me to understand the intricacies of how the TV world works. Indeed, I helped with prop set-up, arranging the collection of equipment and working alongside contributors.
Since graduating, I also embarked on a 1-year placement working as a Graduate Assistant at Taunton School International. In this role, I have built upon my already established administrative skill-set, alongside working closely with the marketing department in press releases and writing blog articles. This involved undertaking a lot of ad-hoc tasks, akin to those in a Runner role.
In June 2022, I graduated from Durham University with a high 2.1 degree in English Literature and History. Through my University career, I studied relevant modules ranging from 'History and its Audiences' and 'A Society of Equals: Modern Literature'. Throughout my time at University I strived to build my transferable skills. For example, I was the Project Leader for Durham's biggest volunteering project, 1-1 Tutoring. This involved exceptional organizational, marketing and personable skills.
