Originally from Cardiff, I undertook a Foundation Degree in Popular Music Technology, earning a Merit. I learnt how to record music in a professional studio setting and accurately position microphones for recording sessions. Proceeding from there, I moved to a full BA (Hons) Film Degree, navigating a wide array of specialisations before finally reaching my true specialisation, screenwriting. During my free time, I continued writing screenplays, ultimately earning First Place at the 2022 Wales International Film Festival for Best Feature Screenplay and Quarter Finalist at the PAGE TURNER Awards, same year. Much of my writing work centres around breaking down the various layers of human characters in order to reach their true core, uncovering the true person beneath the façade.
My speciality would be in creating philosophical, almost angelic styles of filmmaking, bringing the audience’s attention to something beyond ourselves. Making people think philosophically will remain in the minds of an audience member, even if only one person long beyond viewing the film, which is what every filmmaker truly wants, for their long years of work and dedication to be remembered. I intend to create a professional career through my screenwriting, working in both Film and Television. Patience is a virtue and will be key as I build up my resumé and networking by applying for various industry jobs such as Script Reading, Script Editing and Script Supervising. Proving myself as an efficient and respectable member of the crew will also be vital in this. It is also important that I always write my own screenplays and stories in my own time, developing my style and format to suit each project, whilst always keeping one eye on current trends so that my work will more likely be commissioned and I come closer to the ultimate goal of being a professional screenwriter. I cannot imagine something better than having a profession that feels more like a hobby due to the sheer amount of enjoyment you get from it and for me, writing is that profession.
