I am a mature and experienced producer and director in broadcast television in genres ranging from current affairs to comedy. I enjoy directing whether with conventional crews or on my own. I have been self shooting since 1999 ! I get most excited by the challenge of original thinking - doing things for the first time. Fundamentally every successful film is a perfect balance of character, story and setting. Bring all that to the screen and the audience will follow. That's the craft of film making. 
In 2022 I was a shooting PD in the team following contestants in an adventure challenge. A new format that combined my love of wilderness with intimate character portraits in a stressful situation.
I do enjoy observational documentary. I've worked in medical ob doc as a shooting PD and Series Producer. It's raw drama.
By contrast I series produced 12 episodes of a flagship archive show for BBC2. And one of my favourite projects was an archaeology series fronted by a comedian. Every job brings another perspective and a new layer of experience.
I like to bring a sense of humour to projects - both in production and on the screen.
I think my strengths are being very focussed, calm and inventive. Years of experience have taught me what really matters in every stage of production. I understand how to get best value on screen for any budget and schedule. I can be self sufficient when required - I spent four months as Shooting Series Producer working autonomously in the Falkland Islands for BBC2.
I own an FX6 camera kit and Mavic 3 drone. I can edit in FCP and Avid.
