I’m a Colombian/US focus puller and self-proclaimed camera geek that’s been working in film for about 20 years. Having now lived in the UK for more than 10 years, I find myself still trying to work out all the cultural nuances like, politely queuing and afternoon tea!
I had my first taste of film at University of Colorado, studying film theory with Stan Brackage and working in the Film Studies office. I then gained experience working in production, doing lighting for festivals in Louisiana, which was great fun! This inspired me to go to Film School in Vancouver, Canada at VFS to work on my dream of being in camera.
In the last few months, I’ve worked on a few interesting documentaries: Catching Criminals, Blue Carbon and the feature The Greatest Show Never Made. While last year I got to go back to my film roots by working on the TV drama as B camera for Doc Martin which was still 16mm
