I am an aspiring natural history filmmaker based in Hokkaido, Japan, with experience researching, fixing and camera assisting for the BBC NHFP and making short films for a conservation NGO. For 3 years I made short films for the Picchio Wildlife Research Center and also worked as a black bear management officer and an ecologist on sea turtles and microbats as well as a nature guide. I completed my masters’ research project in Australia, mapping the distribution of an endangered bird by using camera traps, where I found it fascinating to reveal and visualise their cryptic life and behaviour. I wrote an article for a local conservation community newsletter to raise awareness of the bird and importance of habitat connectivity. This experience led to my pleasure to share stories with people. Read Less
