I am a 20-year-old hard-working film graduate from West Herts College looking to get into the Film and TV industry. Some of the things I can bring to the table are my developed social skills, my experience within the hospitality industry and my eagerness to always learn and improve.
After studying level 3 film and TV production at West Herts College for 2 years, I have developed a range of technical and communicative skills. This includes a basic understanding of cinematography using DSLR cameras, editing with software such as Premiere Pro, and learning to work collaboratively as a group. For example, with my final project at college, I decided to work by myself to push my capabilities. This meant I had to plan, shoot, and edit my short film by myself. I enjoyed this experience as it meant I had complete creative control and freedom over my project. For my other projects I worked in a group with fellow students to create a music promo, a revamp of an 80s/90s advert, and documentaries. For the majority of these, I was the Director of photography. I adored this role and it was what first sparked my interest in Cinematography. During this course, I volunteered to be a part of my college's multicam TV production show's. I was given the roles of floor manager, Camera operator, and studio assistant.
Now, I work as a barman at Pendley Manor where I have gained hospitality skills, along with improving my resilience and work ethic. I have learned to communicate with a range of different people through longer-hour shifts. Despite this, I do enjoy the social aspect of the job by talking to customers and putting a positive impact on their day! I do hope to step away from this job in the near future to pursue my film aspirations, though.
One area within film and TV I would specifically be interested in being a camera operator. As this role has always interested me. I have a strong passion for the film industry and am willing to do whatever it takes to make it into the industry.
