The age I fell in love with stories.

My curiosity piqued when I discovered my grandpa’s ancient, twenty pound manual typewriter in his office one afternoon. The oval keys had rusted over and I developed multiple blisters on my fingers from vigorously typing away on the beastly machine each time I visited.

Finally, winter rolled around, and while most of my friends asked Santa for Bratz dolls and bracelet-making kits, I begged that tubby, bearded man for a typewriter of my own. When the magical day came, I clawed open my present and there she was -- an electric typewriter. From that moment on, I spent day after day barricaded in my room typing poems and short stories. Finally, at age ten, I decided to write my first novel called, Journey to Mount Cashocki.

Not long after my passion for writing kicked off did I begin developing a passion for movies too, tugging at my mom’s robe at the end of each night, pleading for her to stay downstairs and watch just one more with me. The magic of acting wooed me: the convincing facial expressions, powerful voices, on-command tears, contagious laughs, passionate kisses, and the sheer memorization of that many lines -- I mean come on! I also admired the set, sound, and costume design in movies, and was mesmerized each time I perched myself in front of my television.

So, when the time came to choose a college major, I decided to devote my studies and career to a combination of my two true loves -- writing and film & television -- and alas, a screenwriter was born!

My specialty is the dramedy genre, with an emphasis on misunderstood, brash, complex, raw, and witty female protagonists.

To me, dramedies are the most perfect, balanced, delicious blend of serious and silly, heartfelt and witty, and I am routinely consuming and writing them. I'm especially drawn to true stories, because somehow knowing that a real person has experienced what I'm watching is all the more alluring to me. I have written a semi-autobiographical dramedy feature film and multiple semi-autobiographical dramedy television pilots. I love pushing boundaries in my work, and writing what others may be afraid to say out loud. I also strive to represent people from all backgrounds; I want my audience to feel seen.

I am eager to get my work out there, and to grow creatively and professionally in this industry. I'm working to build valuable, genuine, long-lasting connections with other creatives, and I hope to one day watch my stories come to life on the screen! Read Less
