I worked for ITV Border for almost 11 years where i held job titles from presenter/producer to news reporter and digital curator. For the last five years i have worked as a producer and presenter for the ITV current affairs programme Border Life. It was a very varied role, which included producing and presenting my own features for the programme. I researched stories for commission, I then fixed the shoot, booked camera crews, managed all paperwork including risk assessments, consents and location agreements. On shoot days I interviewed contributors, presented the features and directed the camera crew. I'd then script my packages, edit my features and lay voiceover. I would also self-shoot when required.I am a self-starter who is always looking for a great people-led story, which will appeal to both broadcast and digital platforms. As a people person, i'm also a great believer of collaborative working, and thoroughly enjoy working as part of a team- but have many years of experience working remotely without supervision. I'm happy to take the lead on projects, and assist junior members of the team when required. I'm very friendly and approachable and my ability to put people at ease often ensures i get the best interviews and content from contributors (including many high profile names like Sir Jackie Stewart, Joanna Lumley, Stuart Hogg, Nicola Sturgeon among many others). I thoroughly enjoy producing programmes and seeing them through from the pre-production stage, to the end product in the edit suite. As a presenter and a reporter, I love to get stuck into the very heart of the story, working with people from all backgrounds, and I've ensured the programmes I've worked on have always pushed to improve diversity and inclusivity- as a true reflection of the communities we live and work in.I also have a passion for digital content producing- from breaking and sharing stories online, to growing digital and social media platforms.
