I am very passionate about the TV and Film industry and would love for an opportunity to start a career. I believe that, from my previous work being the manager of a close-knit team in a fast-paced atmosphere, I have the skills and dedication required to fulfil a new and exciting role. While, this would be quite a big career change for me, going from dentistry to the screen industry, I am confident my abilities and experience - managing multiple clinicians’ diaries, keeping the patients database in check and up to date, stock control, staff rotas, writing all HR related policies, to name a few - would prove essential. I believe these skillsets, alongside my passion for the industry and even some experience on the outskirts of the world having been an extra and a session singer on various TV shows in the past, show that I am a strong candidate.
I started as a receptionist and nurse in 2014 but thanks to my driven approach, always making sure I exceeded requirements to keep the practice in as good a running order as possible, I was promoted to Manager within 3 years. The job was high pressure, and often involved juggling several tasks at once. There were occasions where I had to run the reception alongside my day to day managerial duties. I'd often take on a role of a ‘runner’, especially during and following COVID-19 with less staff availability, often changing rooms and making sure all staff and patient needs were met throughout the building, placing myself into the roles that were needed for that day to run as smoothly as possible. Despite these demands, I am always able to complete my daily tasks to a high standard, showing my strong time management skills and ability to cope under pressure. I am very organised in both my personal and work life, always writing to-do lists and making the most out of each day as possible.
I am highly proficient in Microsoft programmes. I have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, using Word and Excel on a day-to-day basis. I also have good knowledge of the Google programmes such as Google Drive. I also have good knowledge of GDPR, and was the Data Protection Officer at the practice. I am a fast learner, when our practice switched to a new computer system I was the first of the staff to really adapt and learn the system, and ended up training other members of staff. Although working in a busy environment, I always make sure that I prioritise tasks to manage my workload and do not leave tasks half-done. I am able to think creatively and transform ideas into reality, and quickly resolve a problem ensuring that the day can run as smoothly as possible.
I also have a degree in English and Theatre studies, something I enjoyed throughout my 3 years of studying with opportunities to write, perform and direct many pieces of theatre, whilst also reading lots of books! I have recently been completing courses on ScreenSkills that are focused on the screen industry, and completed a 6 week course with the Open University on ‘The Business of Film’.
