Striving to produce, Mhairi joined Hopscotch Films determined to learn from the bottom up. Her experience has made her effective in liaising with all crew, cast, agents, marketing, festival contacts etc, to ensure a smooth delivery and steady production process. Such productions have consisted of short and feature-length dramas and documentaries as well as social media content. Mhairi’s involvement also consists of archive and music clearance for broadcast and theatrical release, scheduling and coordinating call sheets, location scouts, completing post-production paperwork - e.g. Silvermouse and Albert - and monitoring costs across numerous productions at one time.Productions of special importance to her include Mark Cousins’ 14-hour road movie on female directors – Women Make Film (Venice, TIFF, LFF, MoMA, Glasgow, Dublin) - starring Tilda Swinton, Jane Fonda, Debra Winger and other influential female voices from cinema. She was the main support to the Producer as Production Co-ordinator. Others are the winner of the Glasgow Film Festival Audience Award 2019, Harry Birrell: Films of Love and War, starring Richard Madden, Eminent Monsters directed by multi-BAFTA Scotland Award winner Stephen Bennett and most recently My Old School (Sundance) directed by Jono Mcleod starring Alan Cumming.Mhairi produced an SFTN short film – The Shift - with Maeve McMahon, directed by BAFTA-nominee Laura Carreira. The Shift premiered at the 77th Venice International Film Festival where it won the Venice Nomination for the European Film Awards 2020. The film was also nominated for the London Critics' Circle Awards 2020.
