I am a graduate of the Channel 4 Production Training Scheme, where I was based at Studio Lambert North. I have produced a news report for BBC News, and I pitched an idea for a documentary film at Sheffield DocFest, which was commissioned by BBC Three. The film, Bend It Like Bollywood, was nominated for a Prix Europa (European Broadcasting Festival) award.
I have experience across the board: admin, casting, cutting, edit, forward planning, research, running, storyboarding, and welfare. I have worked in entertainment, documentaries, and factual entertainment.
I used to run the Theatre section of The Mancunion, reviewing events (e.g. Eurovision) and interviewing talent (e.g. Pete Waterman OBE). I have just launched a culture blog called JaDar, which can be found at jadar.uk. The blog was launched with an exclusive interview with Carrie Hope Fletcher.
I am especially interested in culture, current affairs, and politics. As a minority, I’m passionate about diversity, inclusion and representation.
