I held a part time role as a development assistant at Naked Emporer Productions in Melbourne. My role was mainly research, note-taking and script coverage. I worked mainly on the development of a factual docu-series called 'Like My Brother', which was a co-production with Good Thing Productions.During study, through the Victorian College of the Arts, I was also included in a 6-week placement at Village Roadshow doing script coverage. I learned how to write succinct and efficient coverage that was helpful for development producers to decide whether or not to continue with a project. After graduation, I took on production roles. I worked firstly as an on-set runner on La Brea Season 1. This was a gruelling six-month shoot in Victoria. We battled difficult shooting conditions, poor weather and COVID restrictions. I learned a lot about how a set is run and the incredible effort and organisation that goes into bringing multi-million dollar television shows to screen. After shooting concluded on La Brea Season 1, I moved into the TVC space. I worked as a runner on a number of commercials during the summer of 2021-2022. I had responsibilities that were on and off set. Preparing for shoots by making purchases, distributing schedules and call sheets. During shoots I would drive cast and agency, perform administrative tasks and liaise with post-production houses to deliver rushes. Then in February 2022, I was recruited by La Brea to work as a production secretary on Season 2. This role was different from any other I had had in the past. I took on a lot more responsibility and quickly had to adapt to a frenetic paced work environment. My ability to problem solve grew exponentially as the office was confronted with massive ordering and equipment hire demands, scheduling changes and strenuous facilities management challenges. We had a cast and crew of over 300 and a production office of 15. This lead to long hours and heavy crew turnover. I was sponsored in this role by the Victorian screen agency, VicScreen. I worked on the show for four months before making the move to London, UK, where I currently reside.
