Series Producer / Director / Edit Producer

Award-winning television executive and series producer / director, with over 20 years of experience producing, directing, filming and editing innovative and creative television. Covering ob-docs, factual, specialist factual and documentaries.  Notable for creating engaging narratives that resonate with global audiences while managing large teams and budgets.

2023 Primetime Emmy nominee as series producer for Outstanding Documentary series ,winner BAFTA, RTS and 2023 Critics Choice Documentary award winner.

November 2021 to February 2023, working at Oxford Scientific Films, as series producer/director on blue chip natural history series for Disney and National Geographic. Narrated by Natalie Portman and exec produced by James Cameron. Filming throughout Africa and Asia. Series producer, as well as directing one of the programmes in the series and edit producing another. Winner of Best Series at the International Wildlife Film festival. Winner best nature/science documentary at the 2023 Critics Choice Documentary Awards. Two 2023 Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding documentary or Nonfiction series.

I started my career working at TWI as a researcher on a channel 4 extreme sports series, then became an assistant producer on a weekly tennis series (Channel 4). I spent two years as one of the Country's first Video Journalists, learning to film, edit and produce my own features. Here I made several documentary series, covering topics from prostitution to taxidermy.

I formed my own company with our first commission from Channel 5. I was involved with all aspects of production, from development to operating as a shooting producer / director, and editing. Since then I have directed/produced and series produced, hundreds of hours of mainstream television, covering a huge range of genres and topics, from specialist factual to live entertainment. Clients included Channel 5, Channel 4, Discovery, Disney, National Geographic and BBC.

I believe in going that extra mile, waiting for the perfect light, trying something different, taking a risk, capturing something no-one else has, and telling a story. My experience in all the processes of production from pre through to post production, gives me a comprehensive and immersive outlook as a Series Producer / Producer / Director, and allows me to contribute to all aspects of a production, particularly on location during filming, and in the edit. In post production, my time as an editor, has enabled me to gain an instinct for edit points, narrative flow and structure.

I believe television should entertain, inform, look beautiful and tell a good, immersive story. One commissioning editor wrote , “We have no right to expect this sort of quality for this sort of money”. My experience in all forms of programme making, allow me to get the best out of people and budgets. I have experience filming on locations throughout the World, and have been both a camera operator and editor. I have led small and large teams.
