Sheida Kiran is a self-shooting British-Turkish-Iranian director and producer based in London. Driven by her passion for ethnographic storytelling, she focuses on documenting women’s issues in Turkey and Iran. Her student film 'Harvesting Our Tea' (2021) was selected for the One World Media Global Short Docs Forum, and later, commissioned by BBC Our World and broadcast globally in 2022.  The film was shortlisted for the Student Yugo BAFTA and Grierson Awards, and was awarded Best Short Documentary in the Women's Voices Now LA Film Festival and Porto Femme Film Festival. 

Sheida has since been developing documentaries for BBC Two Current Affairs and developing her next short documentary with the support of the OSBD Documentary Film Fund and DOK Leipzig Short N Sweet. It has since been comissioned by BBC Our World and releases as 'Turkey's Earthquake: Those Who Stayed' on BBC iPlayer.
