Ben is a multi-BAFTA & Grierson nominated director who makes bold and distinctive films. He has a reputation for arresting visuals, and bringing complicated often dangerous stories to the screen. A trained cinematographer with extensive edit experience, Ben was nominated for a BAFTA for the BBC series ‘The Detectives: Fighting Organised Crime’ (Best Factual Series 2022), which also won an RTS Craft award (Documentary Editing 2021). Ben has previously filmed and directed episodes of the Netflix global hit ‘DOPE’, and wrote & directed a multi award-winning drama short “Vigilante” about the 2011 London Riots. In 2023, he wrote and directed ‘Dublin Narcos” a drama documentary for NOW TV. Described by The Guardian as, “a brilliant 3-part documentary”, it was nominated for a Grierson & 3 RTS Craft awards. Ben is currently in the edit with 90 minute BBC feature doc ‘Atomic People’, & recently released three part series ‘The Detectives: Taking Down an OCG’ (BBC), which was five years in the making. Ben started out as a camera assistant on Peep Show.
