Matteo Clarke is an award-winning wildlife filmmaker and conservation advocate based in Bristol, UK. With a Bachelor of Science in Zoology, Matteo transitioned to freelance work in 2022 after contributing to notable projects like "Home | Africa" at the BBC Natural History Unit for Disney+ and Nat Geo, as well as television programs for Channel 4, Arte, and PBS.

Matteo's diverse background, being half French, half English, and raised in Germany, adds depth to his storytelling and has allowed him to collaborate with various European productions and travel globally to produce documentaries as a freelance filmmaker and photographer.

In addition to his filmmaking endeavours, Matteo is committed to education and engagement. He conducts workshops and speaks at events, sharing his insights and inspiring others.

Matteo's debut documentary, "Bristol: A Hidden Eden” (2022) and subsequent film “Kalu: Growing Up Wild” (2023) have earned international acclaim, winning awards at festivals worldwide. Recently, he completed “Heart of The Osa” a short documentary for the Global Sustainability Collective, and is currently involved in developing new short for and feature documentaries as well as creating branded content, including collaborations with Craghoppers.

In addition to his extensive experience, Matteo holds certifications in PADI Advanced Open Water and BCAP Canopy Access Rope, further enhancing his capabilities in capturing the wonders of the natural world. Matteo speaks English, French and German fluently as well as conversational Spanish! He is a confident shooter on various cinema cameras such as Reds, ARRIs, Sony Fs7, FX6, FX9, A7Siii and Canon C300 mkII. He is proficient in scripting, scheduling and story notes.
