I am a producer and self-shooting director of documentaries for broadcast, online and international release. My latest project was a flagship two-parter for BBC 2 called 'Dementia & Us', filmed over two years.I have directed films and web-documentaries from around the UK and the world, including the award-winning 'My Stolen Childhood', bringing observational filming techniques to specialist factual and journalistic films.I enjoy working collaboratively with contributors to build trust, supporting people to tell their stories with humour, emotion and authenticity. I’m comfortable working with talent or with vulnerable contributors and bring journalistic rigour to my films, having trained as an investigative reporter on Channel 4’s Dispatches.I also run On Our Radar productions, an award-winning production house making documentaries and digital features that are distinct, raw and intimate. We work with people to tell their stories in their own words, combining a participatory approach with the highest production values and journalistic standards.I have occasionally taught journalism and innovation at universities and have spoken at media conferences in the UK and round the world. I am a regular judge for the Association for International Broadcasting Awards and European Journalism Centre's international development grants. Read Less
