After 10 years as a producer in animation, VFX, games and short film; I have taken the decision to move into factual projects. To ensure I understand all the subtle similarities and differences, I am committed to take time working my way up through the production office and currently am coordinating on an observational documentary for Beach House Pictures. Below is my Producer bio:Ross Morrison is an Irish writer and producer. He graduated with 1:1 BA (Honours) degree in English and Creative Writing from Liverpool John Moore’s University.During his time in Liverpool he was a finalist in the inaugural Pulp Idol competition, as part of the Writing on the Wall festival, resulting in his selection as one the UK and Ireland’s most exciting young writers in 2008, by the Society of Young Publishers. Ross returned to Ireland in 2012 to work as the Production Coordinator for BAFTA-nominated animation studio, Blacknorth. It was here he cut his teeth, working with Disney, HBO Europe and the BBC.Making the move to Producer, at Enter Yes, Ross began to emerge as a rising talent in the local creative industry. He began speaking at industry led events and devised and presented production workshops, particularly aimed at students.In 2016, he was named on the board of GamesNI, a local cluster of industry leaders intent on pushing the video games scene forward, through community, collaboration and integration.During his time at Enter Yes, Ross won a contract to work on breakout Channel 4 comedy show, Derry Girls, to provide the titles and various elements of post-production VFX and he still continues his professional relationships with big name production companies.In 2018, he made a further step up in career to Head of Production, at leading indie dev studio, Italic Pig. Within his first year, Ross had overseen projects which garnered numerous awards, including Best in Play, Game Developers Conference, San Francisco, and a nomination for Best Immersive Experience at Raindance festival, London.As 2021 drew to a close, he was presented with the opportunity to work alongside well-established children’s writer and producer Mellie Buse on Mimi’s World, an aspirational and inclusive show for Milkshake! where he gained invaluable insight before going onto work with Nick Coupe on Dylan Moran’s Stuck for BBC2.
