Hello my name is Thomas Luke JonesI am a new in the media industry with a keen interest in film but can work in other forms of media such as broadcasting and advertising.My primary experiences in the industry so far has been a mix of editing and data wrangling as well as some on set job like running and being a lighting assistant, grip and COVID marshal. I gained most of this through a 6 month kickstarter scheme with Edge Hill University as part of 21 Media where i worked closely with one of the heads Carl James Hunter.During my time with 21 i was part of a few productions but what i see as the best examples of my time with the company are the short films. The Ferryman was a short made by myself and a team where i was one of the editors in charge of post production and is currently making head way in five film festivals and has won an award at one of them. Get Up was a project i began after finishing university and was produced entirely by myself, but through 21 Media i was able to send it off to film festivals.Whilst these two projects show off my basic understanding of editing techniques i have been practising with more advanced techniques by myself. My hope is that with my own practise as well as the experiences i gain from a much more professional environment with editing in the industry, i will be able to reach a standard where my lack of time in the industry is less considered a downside of hiring when compared to what i can do with editing.
