Syrian-British cameraman and filmmaker who documented six years of the Syrian conflict, working through some of the most perilous and challenging moments of the war. He was described as a "symbol of the revolution" after a photo of him rescuing an injured child went viral. Habak has collaborated with several major international media outlets, including the BBC and CNN, as a cameraman and field producer.

After surviving the siege of Aleppo and facing persecution by Islamist factions in Idlib, he fled Syria and sought refuge in the UK in 2017. He now lives in London, where he continues to build a career as a documentary filmmaker, telling stories of conflict, resilience, and justice.

In 2020, Habak founded his own production company, Habak Films, with the aim of producing powerful, character-driven films from Syria and Lebanon. The company focuses on stories rooted in community, conflict, and social justice.

He directed Her Stories, a film about a Syrian woman's journey, and Syria’s Last Chapter, a story of hope and endurance in Idlib, produced for Al Jazeera Witness.

He is currently developing a number of independent films, including Until the Buzzing Stops, which explores the lingering trauma of war and the search for peace.
